Cloudforce 2 – London

by Phil Jenkins on December 14, 2009

Cloudforce 2 LondonI was going to write a huge complimentary article about the amazing Cloudforce 2 event in London until I realised it had been the best sales pitch I have ever witnessed. Period. That’s not to say I am not a fan of Marc Benioff and Salesforce.com, in fact the opposite is true.

I couldn’t help but be impressed at the level of innovation they are constantly pumping into their product suite. Read the book, “Behind the Cloud” or watch the movie of the day, either will give you far more information than I can squeeze into this blog. Some of the key points that appealed to me include:

  • Planning UK and Japanese data centres
  • Knowledge management built into core product
  • Deploy website from Salesforce (Starbucks are currently doing this)
  • Chatter – social networking tools for collaboration internally and with clients
  • Crowd Sourcing – finding answers from social media
  • Service Cloud 2 – Radical new vision for support
  • Pitch Deck – collaborate globally on sales pitches
  • Evite – facebook style organiser for meetings
